Orlando Museum of Art is opening its doors wide for the community thanks to Access for All Event in partnership with Art Bridges Foundation.
The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) today announces its next Access for All event in partnership with the Art Bridges Foundation, offering free admission to the museum from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 15. Following a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for all, OMA strives to break down barriers and continually welcome new members of the community to experience the healing power of art.
“Our Access for All events, held monthly, are a cornerstone of our mission to make art universally accessible, irrespective of background or status,” said Cathryn Mattson, CEO of the Orlando Museum of Art. “We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where art and creative expression can be embraced by everyone. This initiative thrives thanks to our vital partnership with the Art Bridges Foundation.”
The museum will be hosting La CinOMAthéque: a collaboration between OMA and the Enzian to provide a free screening of Meshes of the Afternoon and At Land by Maya Deren with an introduction by Zachary Beckler, associate lecturer at the University of Central Florida and live score by Daniel Jordan. Guests can also enjoy artwork from OMA’s signature exhibition, the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art, where the installations of 10 talented Florida-based artists are on display through August 25.
"Art can broaden our perspectives and introduce fresh ideas into our lives,” said Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon, Chief Curator of the Orlando Museum of Art. “By providing free admission and introducing new programs every month, we strive to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts and offer a venue where the public can truly engage with our exhibitions."
In addition to free admission, Access for All will feature guided tours and live demonstrations, providing visitors with opportunities to engage with art in a variety of ways. All are welcome to attend and experience the beauty and wonder of art in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
