Florida's largest anime convention, METROCON boasts a number of exciting stage shows, unique vendors, exciting panelists, and interactive events throughout the weekend.
One of the highlights of the three day show is the world famous Anime Human Chess Match, where characters from your favorite anime and video games will battle it out for the fate of the world!
METROCON takes place from Friday, July 5 - Sunday, July 7 2024, taking over the entire Tampa Convention Center!

The Masquerade
The Masquerade is a one of a kind experience – maintaining the roots of a theatrical style, interactive, themed dance event, our goal is to transport the patrons of METROCON to a whole other world and provide a night of entertainment, romance, and adventure that is truly immersive and once in a lifetime. The Masquerade takes place on the Friday Evening of METROCON.
Gaming
Whether you’re a dice gremlin or live to press buttons, you’re always a few feet away from an incredible gaming experience, including the incredible 10,000+ sq ft METROcade, a catered board game and tabletop selection!
Cosplay Contests
With a variety of in-house contests and competitions, METROCON has plenty of ways to compete for the title of “Very Best Like No One Ever Was”. Be sure to see these incredible and creative members of the community fight for the win and bring their amazing creations to life!
Panels & Workshops
METROCON has a HUGE assortment of panels, classes, workshops, and more!
Featuring Q&A’s with your favorite characters, how-to instructionals on make-up or costuming, trivia contests, and fandom meet-ups, our panels and workshops are run by METROCON fans just like you! You can expect fans from every corner of geek-dom coming together, and even the most niche topics will see representation in the panel schedule.
