On the west coast, Universal Studios Hollywood is building a new “Fast & Furious”-themed roller coaster, while here in Orlando we have the party bus!
Buckle up! Universal Studios Hollywood have finally announced that a long-rumored outdoor roller coaster based on the "Fast & Furious" film franchise is happening!
Universal say that the new coaster will be “equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely created to engulf guests within the dynamic Fast & Furious universe.”
This new ride will be located on Universal Studios Hollywood’s upper deck, where Animal Actors and the Special Effects Show used to be.
It’s not been announced when the Fast & Furious-themed roller coaster will open, but Universal Studios Hollywood said construction will begin soon, and yes here in Orlando we have the Fast & Furious-themed party bus.
Now if only we could swap out Fast & Furious – Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida for the coaster!
Speculation appears to point to the new coaster dubbed "Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift" being an Intamin multi-launch spinning coaster, with riders in spinning cars designed to simulate the feeling of a drifting racecar.
The new coaster could be similar to Intamin's Family Launch Spinning Coaster "Objectif Mars" at Futuroscope, France which we have pictured here.
The coaster will start on the theme park's upper lot, descend to the lower lot and then make its way back up the hill near the "Starway" escalator.
