New trail at ZooTampa has been made possible by the Muma Children’s Hospital at TGH and offers exercise while enjoying nature.
ZooTampa at Lowry Park has a new way for families to enjoy wildlife and get fit while visiting the Zoo.
The Zoo and the Muma Children’s Hospital at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) have teamed up to provide guests of all ages with a walking trail highlighting the best views within the Zoo during their fitness journey. The Zoo's walking trail is a 1-mile loop situated among nature that connects guests with animal habitats and includes signs every one-eighth mile that help guests follow their progress and stay on track.
ZooTampa has always been a special place for families across the Tampa Bay area, and by creating new opportunities to get outdoors, the Zoo and TGH are encouraging kids and families to be more active.
The two organizations hope the new trail will draw kids into the Zoo by creating new family-friendly wellness opportunities that will last a lifetime.
The walking trail is not the first collaboration between Tampa General Hospital and ZooTampa.
As the official and exclusive medical partner of the Zoo, the Muma Children's Hospital at TGH hosted a Kids Fun Run at the Zoo last summer and is the presenting sponsor of the Family Care Center in the new Australia section of the Zoo, which opens in March.
