Exciting changes coming to Downtown Orlando with Church Street to become a "Festival Street"

Plans have been approved by the city of Orlando to transform the once vibrant Church Street in downtown Orlando, creating an events space in the hope of attracting more visitors to the area.

The Downtown Development Board has revealed that exciting changes are coming to downtown Orlando as part of ongoing efforts to enhance mobility and boost local business activities throughout the area.

City Council recently approved a key initiative that will transform the downtown streetscape of historic Church Street, near the SunRail station.

The City of Orlando will be making big changes to Church Street, repositioning it as a "festival street." This work will be done in phases, starting with the first improvements beginning soon.

The changes will create a vibrant space for events, drawing more visitors and energizing the local economy.

Guided by the CRA's DTOutlook and Project DTO 2.0, this project reflects the Cit of Orlando's commitment to making downtown a thriving, connected community for residents, employees, and visitors alike.
