The City of Orlando has closed on four downtown properties, announcing big plans for the newly acquired locations.

Big news for Downtown Orlando as the City of Orlando has announced that they have closed on the purchase of four downtown properties, marking a major milestone in revitalizing downtown Orlando.
Last year, the Community Redevelopment Agency acquired the four catalytic properties, located at 30 South Orange Avenue, 1 North Orange Avenue, and 205 + 215 East Central Boulevard.
Last week, the CRA officially closed on the properties, marking a major milestone in the ongoing efforts to revitalize downtown Orlando.
The city say that these strategic acquisitions pave the way for transformative projects that will enhance connectivity, public space, and economic vitality in the urban core.
So what properties has the city purchased? First up is 30 S. Orange Ave, a future site of a dynamic public park, which will create a welcoming space for residents, workers, and visitors.
City leaders say this proposal will further their goal of creating a safer and more vibrant downtown for residents and visitors.
The property at 1 N. Orange Ave will be repositioned for future redevelopment and re-use.
The properties at 205 + 215 East Central Boulevard will create new opportunities to expand Lake Eola Park and integrate future mixed-use development, featuring active ground floors that could include destination restaurants, with additional residential and office space above, reinforcing downtown’s role as a vibrant, walkable destination.
So what happen's next? In the coming weeks, the CRA will release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for 30 South Orange Avenue and the Central Boulevard properties, inviting innovative ideas that align with the city's long-term vision.
