Embark on a musical journey with Richard Strauss’ “Ein Heldenleben” (A Hero’s Life), a symphonic poem that paints a vivid portrait of heroism, passion, and triumph.

Presented by Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Classics Series concert "A Hero's Life" presented by AdventHealth takes place on Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12 at Dr. Phillips Center's Steinmetz Hall.

Through lush orchestrations and soaring melodies, Strauss takes listeners on a journey, from the hero’s valiant exploits to moments of tender reflection and ultimate victory. “Ein Heldenleben” stands as a testament to Strauss’ mastery of orchestral storytelling, captivating audiences and will leave you spellbound with its power and emotional depth.

Returning to the stage, New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinetist Anthony McGill will perform a World Premiere concerto written by Gabe Kahane.

The concert will open with selections from the Peer Gynt Suites by Edvard Grieg - you may recognize the movement "In the Hall of the Mountain King" so famously heard in many movies today.

Guest artist Anthony McGill, Principal Clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic, returns to Orlando to perform the World Premiere of Gabriel Kahane’s clarinet concerto written specifically for him.
