Earth Day is a global celebration of planet Earth, the place we all call home, and in Orlando there are many opportunities to connect with nature, get outdoors, and protect the planet for future generations.

Earth Day is a reminder to all of us to dedicate our time, resources, and energy to solving climate change and the many environmental issues that face us all.


Growing out of the first Earth Day in 1970, this year, Earth Day takes place on Tuesday, April 22, 202, and throughout Central Florida you will discover many events taking place throughout the month, including eco-friendly events, vegan food festivals, neighborhood clean-up's, and more.


Take this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for a greener future, and find inspiration to make positive changes in your own life, and contribute to a healthier planet.


With so many events taking place throughout Central Florida we have brought together all the events celebrating Earth Day 2025 right here, as more events get announced we will add them to the list, so check back often.

St John's River Clean Up

March 15 - April 26

St. Johns Riverkeeper is partnering with counties, businesses, and nonprofits throughout the watershed to clean up the St. Johns River and its tributaries. Cleanups are being planned in Brevard, Clay, Duval, Orange, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns, and Volusia Counties during the month-long Great St. Johns River Cleanup! Between March 15 and April 26, join an official cleanup in your county or organize a cleanup of your own.


April 2 - 30

Earth Day takes place on April 22, but Orange County Library System is offering fun throughout the whole month! Kids and adults can celebrate our planet by learning about sustainability efforts as well as ways to engage others in the environmental movement.



April 12

In honor of Earth Day, Rep. Anna V. Eskamani is joining forces with Rep. LaVon Bracy Davis as well as Keep Orlando Beautiful, to host a community clean up! We'll be taking action in our shared vision of a cleaner and more beautiful world, and you are invited, too! We’ll supply all the clean up tools you need, though we ask that you dress comfortably with closed-toe shoes. You’re encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste. We'll be meeting in Orlando; please RSVP for exact address!


City of Sanford's Earth Day Love your Mother Festival

April 12

Join the 5th Annual Love Your Mother Festival - Historic Downtown Sanford's Earth Day celebration. On Saturday, April 14, come by the Deviant Wolfe Brewing taproom to learn about local environmental nonprofit organizations and peruse 20+ Earth-friendly vendors at our Love Your Mother market in front of the brewery on 1st Street. There will be fun Earth Day activities for the kiddos, Live Music, The Avian Wildlife Art Show, Tons of Eats, Treats, and more!


Mount Dora Earth Day - Planet vs. Plastics

April 12

Celebrate the Earth at the annual Mount Dora Earth Day Celebration in Donnelly Park, 148 Charles Ave, Mount Dora with plant and craft vendors, children's projects, fun workshops and more. Proceeds go toward purchasing and planting trees locally.


April 15

This year, the visitor complex honors the 55th anniversary of Earth Day. Visit on April 15, 2025 to meet a variety of local businesses and conservation groups and learn about their sustainable practices.  Plus, be a part of the butterfly releases in the Rocket Garden throughout the day, as well as hands-on educational activities and a scavenger hunt for our younger guests. 


April 19 - 20

Celebrate Earth Day with a visit to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, where you'll have a chance to complete a conservation-themed puzzle trail as you make your way around. Solve all the puzzles and win a small prize!


Central Florida Earth Day

April 19

Central Florida Earth Day is brought to you by Vegetarians of Central Florida, a social and educational group for vegans and those aspiring to be in the Central Florida area. The 20th annual Central Florida Earth Day will happen on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Lake Eola Park (east side). Central Florida Earth Day is an exciting day of colorful and educational exhibits and activities! Admission is FREE! Earth Day is a family-friendly, dog-friendly, alcohol-free, and smoke-free event. Earth Day, now in its 20th year, is the biggest and best Earth Day festival in Central Florida! 2025 is the 56th anniversary of Earth Day!


April 19

Commemorate Earth Day at the Winter Garden Farmers Market by getting a free reusable Winter Garden tote bag to curb use of plastic bags. Stop by the City of Winter Garden table, next to the Pavilion, for the free tote bag and to find out ways you can continue to keep our planet clean.

Use the bag for your purchases at the Farmers Market and bring it back to use each Saturday.


A&H's FREE Earth Day Family Day PLUS Printed Tote Bag Family Art Workshop

April 19

Families are invited to celebrate our "home sweet home" at A&H's FREE Earth Day Family Day PLUS Printed Tote Bag Family Art Workshop where children can play with colors and patterns while using paint to "print" their own tote bags with recycled objects! This art project is inspired by A & H’s founder, Jules Andre’ Smith - a master printmaker who loved experimenting with art, and we can’t think of anything more fun for Earth Day than creating reusable art with recycled materials! We'll have other Earth Day inspired craft stations too, plus coloring and still life tables! Families can also explore our campus, orignially built as an artist colony almost 100 years ago, with an Earth Day themed scavenger hunt. There will be other surprises too - like face painting and complimentary admission to three museums!



April 19

It's a day of fun, education, and community spirit as we clean up our lake and celebrate nature!

Eco-friendly activities for all ages, educational booths to learn more about sustainability, giveaways, and much more! Let's make a positive impact and enjoy a day outdoors. April 22

Together with Keep Orlando Beautiful, join Ivanhoe Village for a neighborhood clean–up. Keep Orlando Beautiful supplies the trash pickers, garbage bags, gloves, traffic vests and water. Not only do these clean ups beautify our districts, but they also help keep waste out of our waterways, strengthening the health of our flora and fauna that live there. SIGN UP HERE.



April 26

The Recycled Art Exhibition is back again for 2025 at the Casselberry Art House. Let your curiosity run wild at this exciting display of recycled and repurposed materials turned into unique pieces of art work. Each year the City hosts this exhibit which includes a wide variety of artists of all different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. See if you recognize the materials incorporated into the works of art on display. In past years artists have included all sorts of things like bottle caps, car parts, fan blades, discarded wood, old clothes, and scrap papers to name just a few of the materials used. You will be amazed at the ingenuity and the craftsmanship that goes into the work from these artists. The exhibit will be on display Monday - Friday from 9 - 4 pm from April 7 - 30. Meet the artists and enjoy a day of Earth minded activities at Casselberry's Earth Fest celebration happening on April 26 from 10 - 3 pm


April 26

Connect with nature and celebrate Mother Earth with a glorious day in the Gardens. This full-day concert experience includes activities inspiring the protection of the planet and a concert under the stars with the rising Americana stars Remedy Tree. The festival will also feature curated food experiences for purchase by Chef Matt Fulwood and the Blue Palmetto Team.


April 26

The City of St. Cloud and the Osceola Library system invite you to join in the Earth Day celebration at Veteran's Memorial Library. There will be local vendors, eco presentations, live animal encounters, food trucks, kid's crafts, a shred truck and so much more!


Casselberry Earth Fest 2025

April 26

The 15th annual Earth Fest – the county’s largest environmentally friendly festival – is on Saturday, April 26, 10 am to 3 pm at Lake Concord Park in Casselberry. The day begins with EarthFest with free tree and plant giveaways, butterfly releases and gardening workshops hosted by the City of Casselberry and Casselberry’s Friends of the Park.


Central Florida Zoo Party for the Planet

April 26

Join us for the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America! The Zoo will have interactive activities, crafts and games that represent our love for the planet, including the chance to build a ‘Toad Abode’ for some helpful local wildlife at your own house! This is a party you don’t want to miss. By the time you leave, you’ll feel connected to nature and immersed in conservation. Let’s take action and celebrate! The Zoo will open to the public at 9 am, and the Party for the Planet will continue until 3 p.m. This event is included in general Zoo admission. Additional fees may apply for certain activities.


Ward & Wellbeing Earth Day Block Party

April 26

Celebrate The Ward & Wellbeing Earth Day Block Party with us, Track Shack, and the City of Winter Park on Saturday, April 27, from 8 – 11:30 am at the Center for Health & Wellbeing, and next door in Ward Park. The Ward & Wellbeing Earth Day Block Party is back for another year and jam-packed with family-friendly, sustainability-themed fun! Go the extra mile and join Track Shack’s and the City of Winter Park’s Run for Trees 5K sponsored by the Center for Health & Wellbeing, then join us to celebrate post-race and browse our Earth Day Open House.


Run for the Trees 5K at Ward Park

April 26

The City of Winter Park and Track Shack's Run for the Trees 5k run/walk presented by Center for Health and Wellbeing is a unique point to point event. The last mile is on the tree-canopied, wilderness dirt road of Genius Drive. This privately owned glimpse of old Florida is opened to the public only once a year, for this event. All in person finishers receive a young tree!

A collaboration between the Winter Park Health Foundation and AdventHealth, the Center for Health & Wellbeing is an 80,000-square foot, state-of-the-art facility, open to the public, where the disciplines of wholeness, fitness, and medicine merge to empower healthy and active lifestyles. More than a building, the Center is a place for community and connection. 


Earth Day Events in Orlando

Earth Day's founders created and organized the very first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. Since then, Earth Day Network also known as EARTHDAY.ORG has been mobilizing over 1 billion people annually on Earth Day, and every other day, to protect the planet.


The theme for Earth Day 2025 is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, inviting everyone around the globe to unite behind renewable energy, and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030.
