Join Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, October 20 for a special event dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
Featuring two compelling performances, “Awareness: Two Stories, One Powerful Message” will showcases two compelling performances wrapped up in one evening, which highlights the resilience and strength of those affected by breast cancer.
The performance will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES:
My Left T!t
Experience Brandon Roberts’ heartfelt tale of Omie the dog and Gwen, a woman bravely battling breast cancer. Written posthumously by Gwen and brought to life by Brandon, this production explores the profound impact of cancer on her life and has received accolades, including the Best Veteran Producer Audience Choice Award and the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Drama at the 2019 Orlando International Fringe Festival.
Artisanal Carcinoma
Jennica McCleary’s Artisanal Carcinoma blends dark humor with her journey through breast cancer. Playing burlesque artist Jennica Tastrophe, she shares her experiences with 17 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and recovery. Premiering at the 2023 Orlando International Fringe Festival, her raw storytelling captivates and inspires.
Jennica McCleary:
Local Orlando actor, producer and burlesque performer. Jennica is the creator and face of Winnie’s Rock Cauldron Cabaret. She was the original Winifred Sanderson cast in the Walt Disney World stage show based on Hocus Pocus for their Villains parties. McCleary wrote, produced and performed in Artisanal Carcinoma after her own breast cancer diagnosis. The show tells the story of her diagnosis, treatment, survival and return to the stage.
Brandon Roberts:
Local Orlando actor, director and artistic director for Gromalot Theatre Factory, Brandon was most recently seen on stage in Orlando Shakes’ War of the Roses series and Kinky Boots. He directed “The Play that Goes Wrong” at Osceola Arts and has an upcoming directing engagement with the Winter Park Playhouse for their Christmas show. Brandon wrote “My Left T!t” posthumously with Gwen, the subject of the story. Gwen, a dear friend of Roberts had blogged about her breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 30 and through, until her untimely passing. Roberts has used these blog posts as well as his own writing to create the show in Gwen’s memory.
