The Swan Derby is a family-friendly fundraiser supporting Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, held annually at Lake Mirror in downtown Lakeland.
The Swan Derby is an annual “Derby Style” event, traditionally staged on beautiful Lake Mirror in Downtown Lakeland, with this year's derby taking place on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
With the entertaining flair of the event and the competitive spirit of the race, the Derby always delivers a memorable occasion for all.
Swan Derby captures the thrill of a race, combined with a night of entertainment, with the proceeds supporting Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine.
The Derby features ten beautifully hand-crafted swan paddle boats in a thrilling race to the finish line. Plus, the event also features 2 additional races, the Maiden Handicap and Derby Dash.
While enjoying the races, everyone will be entertained by a live band, able to grab some great eats, snacks and drinks from local, food truck vendors, and accompany the kids to the Swan Land activity and play area.
In keeping with the fun of the event, and as this iS derby, everyone is invited to wear their best derby hat and enter the derby hat contest! Plus, if all that is not enough, to cap off the night, a fantastic fireworks display will take place at 9 pm.
This is an outdoor, community event is for all ages to enjoy and is free to attend.
