Federal Aviation Administration have been slowing the volume of flights heading to Florida Monday, January 2, due to an air traffic computer issue.
Today, Monday, January 2, 2023, an issue impacting the computer system that air traffic centers use to handle air traffic has been forcing the Federal Aviation Administration to slow the volume of flights heading to Florida airports, including Orlando international Airport.
The FAA enforced limitation has been delaying flights in and out of Orlando International Airport, with more than half the flights coming into MCO showing delays, although the airport said there are no major flight impacts, but that passengers should check with their airlines for updates.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a computer issue with one of its air traffic systems – which prompted flight delays at several Florida airports – has been resolved, and that it now working to resume its normal flight schedules.
As well as affecting Orando International Airport, other Florida airports affected included Tampa International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and Miami International Airport.
