With a strong cold front moving into Central Florida, enjoying a water park visit is off the agenda, with Disney closing Blizzard Beach Water Park in the days ahead.
As cold weather moves into Central Florida, and a Cold Weather Advisory in place for tonight, Monday, January 6, residents and visitors should be prepared for very cold temperatures, with the wind chill making it feel as cold as 25 to 30 degrees across Lake, Volusia, Seminole and Orange counties.
And with Tuesday highs only running in the upper 50s, which is about 15° below normal, Walt Disney World has decided to close Blizzard Beach Water Park for the next two days.
Currently, Blizzard Beach is scheduled to be closed on Tuesday, January 7, and Wednesday, January 8, with the water park currently scheduled to be reopen at 10 am on Thursday, January 9, but this is subject to change, and with Universal Orlando closing Volcano Bay for the next three days, we could see Blizzard Beach also closed on Thursday, January 9.
As we look towards the end of the week, we will thankfully see a slow warming back to the 60s. Then, on Saturday another cold front will be approaching, bringing a 60% chance for rain on Saturday, with a dry but colder day on Sunday, with morning temps in the 40s, warming into the low 60s by afternoon.
