The world famous Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier, one of the busiest tourist destinations on the Space Coast, has been undergoing a $3.5 million redevelopment over the winter that will see the piers retail and dining locations transformed.
We first broke the news last December that development of 5 new retail and dining concepts was well underway at Cocoa Beach Pier, and now it looks like everything is on target to open next month, in February.
New offerings at the Pier include a brand-new souvenir shop, upscale waterfront dining with a sushi bar, customizable grab-and-go options, and a new daquiri bar.
“The Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier is the premier tourist destination in Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral and a popular gathering spot for locals,” said Jim Gissy, Executive Vice President at Westgate Resorts. “We are excited to elevate the guest experience at the pier with several new restaurants and food outlets, a brand-new Pier retail shop, and five family-style changing rooms.”
Let's take a look at the new retails and dining concepts and when they should be open!
The new retail space will feature a 51-foot wall of customized T-shirts, mugs, branded accessories and more, all showcasing the incredible history of Central Florida’s beach and surf culture.
The Pier Shop is now located at the base of the Pier and has already opened.
Paying homage to the year the Pier was opened, this upscale restaurant will be located where Pelican's was on Cocoa Beach Pier, boasting a completely reimagined dining experience with a brand-new menu including fresh seafood, grilled favorites and a full sushi bar with sake cocktail offerings.
Pier 62 will feature a new outdoor bar with seating and roll-up windows for guests to take in the oceanfront views and exquisite Florida sunsets.
Pier 62 is scheduled to open in February 2023.
Full of unique customizations and made-to-order sandwiches to go, Ohana Subs will allow guests to choose from premium, locally-sourced ingredients all assembled fresh by our Sandwich Experts.
Ohana Subs will feature unique and specialty selections of freshly sliced cold cuts and deli meats, along with an assortment of fresh veggies. The perfect way to grab a bite and head back down to the waves.
Ohana Subs is scheduled to open in February 2023.
A completely new spin on the classic bowl of chips. Guests will experience loaded kettle-cooked chip bowls packed with punchy ingredients.
Featuring items like Mexican Street Corn, Italian Chicken Alfredo and Philly Cheesesteaks, this elevated beach snack will surely be a hit with locals and tourists alike.
Chip Wrecked is scheduled to open in February 2023.
Ocean Freeze is a classic daiquiri bar featuring nine, fan-favorite frozen concoctions such as margarita, piña colada, peach, mango, strawberry, orange, green apple, Blue Hawaiian and Hurricane.
Ocean Freeze is scheduled to open in February 2023, just in time for spring break.
In addition to the new retail and dining options coming to Coca Beach Pier, the renovated Pier will now feature five family-style changing and restroom facilities allowing families the opportunity to change in comfort after a long day of hitting the surf and sand.
Since its construction in 1962, the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier has provided lasting memories for millions of visitors year after year. The renovation of existing locations on the Pier, as well as the addition of exciting new food concepts, is the Pier’s biggest enhancement in more than 40 years.
