This past week, chicken finger chain Raising Cane's celebrated the opening of their 700th restaurant, and here in Central Florida, we are patiently waiting for the first restaurant to open in the area.
It was back in January this year that we reported that Raising Cane’s was coming to Florida, with at least 12 stores in the Orlando area and at least 25 locations across the state of Florida.
Raising Canes said at the time that Lake Nona here in Orlando would see the first restaurant, but since then Raising Canes have upend its first four Florida locations, with two in Clearwater, one in Miami, and another in Homestead.
The Lake Nona store to be located at 11879 Narcoossee Rd, near Valencia College, Lake Nona Campus is still in the works, but now the chicken finger chain have submitted a recent filing for a location in Kissimmee located at 8170 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy in Kissimmee, near Sunset Walk and the Margaritaville Resort.
Which restaurant will open first? Raising Cane's are remaining tight lipped on the answer to that question!
So far Raising Cane's have identified the following Orlando area locations where Raising Cane's will be opening, with all locations planned to have a standalone drive-thru restaurant.
Altamonte Springs in the area of Altamonte Drive and Maitland Avenue
Osceola County in the area of U.S. 192 and Rolling Oaks Boulevard
Kissimmee in the area West Osceola Parkway and North Thacker Avenue
Kissimmee in the area of West Irlo Bronson Parkway and Holiday Trail
Orlando in the area of South Orange Avenue and West Illiana Street
Orlando in the area of Narcoossee Road and Irenic Way
Orange County in the area of Daryl Carter Parkway and Palm Parkway
Founded by CEO Todd Graves in 1996, Raising Cane’s first opened in Baton Rogue, Louisiana with a menu focused almost exclusively on chicken fingers, fries and coleslaw along with its signature “Cane’s Sauce.”
Customers also have the option to order thick Texas toast, or have the chicken tenders between buns as a chicken tender sandwich.
No opening date has been announced but with permits filed with the state, it hopefully shouldn't be long before the new store takes shape.
