Torchy’s Tacos, the popular craft fast-casual taco brand known for its Damn Good Tacos and Green Chile Queso is opening it's first Central Florida location this fall.
Texas-based taco chain Torchy’s Tacos had planned to open its first Orlando location last summer in Altamonte Springs, but those plans got pushed back, and as Orlando patiently waited, Torchy's Tacos opened its first Florida location in St Pete at 2314 Tyrone Blvd.
Now it's Orlando's turn, and the Altamonte Springs location at 999 N. State Road 434, Suite 1000, is ready to open, with the opening date set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
The first 100 guests in line on opening day will receive a limited-edition Torchy’s T-shirt, which gives the recipient a year of free green chile queso each time they wear it to the Altamonte Springs location.
The offer is valid for one year, and it can only be redeemed once per day.
The restaurants regular hours will be 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Sundays.
“After the outpouring of support and love for our Torchy’s Tacos St. Petersburg location, we knew a second Florida location wouldn’t be far behind,” Torchy’s Tacos CEO Mike Rypka commented. “We are thrilled to open the doors in Altamonte Springs and welcome the community into the Torchy’s Tacos family.”
A second Orlando location at Orlando's Vineland Pointe in O-Town West is also in the works. Located at 11513 Regency Village Drive, an opening dater this location has yet to be announced.
Torchy’s Tacos got its start 15 years ago when founder and CEO Mike Rypka bought a food trailer and set out to change the taco game forever. As word of mouth grew, Torchy’s became known for its scratch-made tacos, emphasizing unique flavors and high-quality ingredients from around the world.
Guests can enjoy favorites like the Brushfire taco, award-winning Green Chile Queso and Torchy’s Taco of the Month while sipping fresh-made margaritas and signature cocktails in the 4,450-square-foot space and accompanying patio. At Torchy’s, every taco, queso and margarita is hand-crafted and made-to-order.
Torchy’s inventive taco creations served on fresh, housemade corn or flour tortillas like Green Chile Pork featuring pork carnitas, green chiles and cotija cheese, Baja Shrimp made with fried shrimp, cabbage slaw and pickled onions, the famous Trailer Park inspired by Torchy’s beginnings in an Austin food trailer with fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo and cheddar jack cheese, plus many more.
