Enjoy the sweet jazz sounds of America's biggest little orchestra performing live with China Forbes on the magnificent stage of the Steinmetz Hall
Celebrating 30 years, Pink Martini featuring China Forbes will take to the stage at Dr Phillips Center's Steinmetz Hall on January 16, 2025.
Pink Martini has taken audiences around the world, sashaying between French café music, Brazilian sambas, Cuban rumbas and a dash of jazz. Featuring the multilingual vocals of China Forbes, the ensemble from Portland, Oregon, presents a mixture of recent songs and vintage favorites.
Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world — crossing genres of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop — and featuring a dozen musicians with songs in 25 languages, a Pink Martini concert is unlike any other. This multi-genre and multi-cultural experience for music lovers of all ages is a joyful party that gets people up out of their seats and sometimes even dancing down the aisles in a conga line.
Fronting the orchestra and writing many of its songs, China Forbes brings style and sophistication to the stage. She recently received the Montreal Jazz Festival’s Ella Fitzgerald Award, presented annually to a jazz singer of significant talent who has had a major impact and influence on the international scene.
Featuring a dozen musicians with songs in 25 languages, Pink Martini performs its multilingual repertoire on concert stages and with symphony orchestras throughout Europe, Asia, Greece, Turkey, the Middle East, Northern Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America and North America.
Pink Martini has sold over 3 million albums worldwide on their own independent label Heinz Records (named after Lauderdale’s dog).
