Florida's largest annual convention of any kind, SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo is celebrating its 50th year in 2024 with over 200.000 visitors expected to attend this highly anticipated spring event.
From its humble beginnings in 1974 as a fly-in for sport aviation enthusiasts, the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo has grown into one of the largest and most successful aviation events in the world.
The event is Florida’s largest annual convention of any kind, and each year over 200,000 visitors flock to Lakeland for what has become known as Aviation’s Season Opener or Spring Break for Pilots.
2024 is the 50th anniversary of the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, with this year's event underway through April 14 at at Lakeland Linder International Airport at 4075 James C. Ray Drive.
Attending SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo has become more than just a rite of passage for generations of families. Those that have attended together share 50 years of stories that include camping under their plane’s wings in a tent, huddling together gazing at the night air shows, eating buttery ears of corn at the Corn Roast…and the list of memories go on and on.
Highlights of this year's SUN ‘n FUN include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the Polaris Ghost Squadron, Aerobatic pilots Michael Goulian and Patty Wagstaff, the Titan Aerobatic team, the Howard DGA-6 Mister Mulligan, and the Patriot Parachute Team.
In addition to the dozens of airshow acts, there is hundreds of exhibitors, displays, demonstrations, workshops, and more.
