Annual fine arts and fine crafts festival returns to Historic Downtown Sanford, April 26 and 27.

St. Johns River Festival of the Arts is set to delight art enthusiasts and families alike this April on the historic brick streets of Downtown Sanford.

The 14th Annual St. Johns River Festival of the Arts returns April 26-27 featuring over 125 acclaimed local, regional, and national artists. With an expected attendance of more than 60,000 visitors, the festival celebrates community spirit and showcases extraordinary talent through stunning art displays, live performances, interactive workshops, and a variety of artisan vendors.

During the festival, two fine art jurors will select the best pieces, and $15,000 in prizes will be awarded to fine art and fine craft winners.

“We are thrilled to provide an opportunity for the community to engage directly with the incredible art and creativity displayed by so many gifted artists," said Kim House, president of the St. Johns River Festival of the Arts. "As a 501 (c) (3), proceeds from the festival proudly support its Art-for-Kids Scholarship program, which offers children the chance to attend art classes regardless of their financial situation. It truly relies on our sponsors' generosity, the city's support, and our volunteers' dedication. We deeply appreciate everyone who contributes to making it a success year after year."

The festival is free to attend with free parking and features excellent food, live music, Art-in-Action, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, painting, woodworking, quaint shops and restaurants. The total event route encompasses First Street, Myrtle Avenue, Palmetto Avenue, and 2nd Street in Historic Downtown Sanford.

This year, the SJRFA has partnered with the City of Sanford to launch a Sculpture Tour throughout downtown. The tour will feature more than fourteen sculptures on or near the festival route in Downtown Sanford.

The St. Johns River Festival of the Arts is an annual art festival in Historic Downtown Sanford that features excellent food, live music, Art-in-Action, sculpture, chalk art, great restaurants, quaint shops with plenty of FREE parking and FREE admission. As a non-profit 501C (3), the St. Johns River Festival of the Arts proudly sponsors “Art-for-Kids,” a scholarship program designed to encourage an appreciation and understanding of the arts. Proceeds from the art festival provide art instruction and education to children in Seminole County regardless of their ability to pay, in a safe, full-service art center.
