With a big drop in temperatures coming to Central Florida, any thoughts of a visit to a water park can be dropped, (just like the temperature) with all major water parks closing in the days ahead.
Today, Monday, January 6, we have already brought you the news that due to a cold front bringing extremely low temps to Central Florida, Blizzard Beach Water Park at Walt Disney World, and Volcano Bay Water Park at Universal Orlando will be closed in the days ahead.
The latest is that SeaWorld Orlando will now also close Aquatica Water park for the next three days, Tuesday, January 7 - Thursday, January 9.
As cold weather moves into Central Florida, and a Cold Weather Advisory in place for tonight, Monday, January 6, residents and visitors should be prepared for very cold temperatures, with the wind chill making it feel as cold as 25 to 30 degrees across Lake, Volusia, Seminole and Orange counties.
And with Tuesday highs only running in the upper 50s, which is about 15° below normal, it's easy to see why the area water parks will remian closed.
Currently, Blizzard Beach is scheduled to be closed on Tuesday, January 7, and Wednesday, January 8, with the water park currently scheduled to be reopen at 10 am on Thursday, January 9, with Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay and SeaWorld's Aquatica closed for the next three days.
As we look towards the end of the week, we will thankfully see a slow warming back to the 60s. Then, on Saturday another cold front will be approaching, bringing a 60% chance for rain on Saturday, with a dry but colder day on Sunday, with morning temps in the 40s, warming into the low 60s by afternoon, still low, but much better than temps in the 50s!!
