Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra presents "Young People’s Concerts: Orchestra Overboard". These concerts will take place on Wednesdays, October 2, 16, and November 20, 2024 at Dr. Phillips Center – Walt Disney Theater.
This program is presented by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in partnership with Orange County Public Schools and performed for over 75,000 local public school students annually.
This years production is Orchestra Overboard...
Anchors aweigh! Seaweed Sam has sailed the seas for many years. But, when a tsunami lands them in an orchestra pit, it’s a first for the marooned pirate. It’s up to the maestro, musicians, and audience (the honorary pirate crew!) to steer the ship in a new direction.
It’s all horns on deck as the orchestra takes to sea with their fearless pirate leader to find hidden treasure and make a few sea friends along the way. This whale of a tale dives deep into riptide rhapsodies, aquatic arpeggios, fishy fanfares, and tuneful trivia. Lifejackets on, fins up, ears open.
Let’s set sail!
The program will be narrated by Lizzy Allen, a singer, songwriter and actress currently based in Orlando,. A New Jersey native, she is an alumnus of Papermill’s award-winning Broadway Showchoir.
She’s overjoyed to be returning for a third year with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Peoples Concerts. Some favorite credits include: Squirt in Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! (Walt Disney Entertainment), Belle in Beauty and the Beast (Orlando Shakes), Sandy Cheeks in The SpongeBob Musical (Orlando Family Stage), and Gamma Ray in Symphony in Space (Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra).
