As part of a $40 million nationwide initiative funded by Art Bridges Foundation, Orlando Museum of Art offers free admission on “Access for All” Third Thursdays of the month.
The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) and the Art Bridges Foundation are hosting an Access for All event, offering free admission to the museum on Thursday, May 16.
Access for All Third Thursdays, is a monthly free day at the museum, launched in January of 2024 – the beginning of OMA’s year-long Centennial Celebration. With a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, OMA aims to break down barriers and invite all members of the community to experience the transformative power of art.
“Access for All events are a testament to our community’s dedication to making art accessible to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status.”, said CEO Cathryn Mattson. "At the heart of our mission is the belief that art should be for everyone. We are thrilled to partner with the Art Bridges Foundation to provide the opportunity for individuals and families from all walks of life to engage with our exhibitions and programs."
Visitors can expect a diverse range of exhibitions showcasing both local and international artists. There will also be a featured program from Orlando Fringe. Curator Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon highlighted the significance of this event, saying, "Art has the power to inspire, educate, and unite us. By offering free admission, we hope to welcome new audiences and foster meaningful connections with our collections."
In addition to free admission, the Access for All event will feature guided tours, interactive workshops, and live demonstrations, providing visitors with opportunities to engage with art in a variety of ways. Whether it's exploring a new exhibition or participating in a hands-on activity, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The Access for All event at the Orlando Museum of Art will take place on Thursday, May 16th, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and experience the beauty and wonder of art in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
