Vulva Va-Voom presents A Rocky, Whorish Patter Show, a high-energy, demented tribute to obsessive nerd fandom (especially fans of a certain 1975 cult film). It’s got wittyparody lyrics in a big Broadway belt, tap, burlesque, and audience crowd-work.
A Rocky, Whorish Patter Show will be performed at Fringe ArtSpace, 54 W Church St Suite 201, Orlando, from Friday, Oct. 4- Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024.
National touring artist and ten-time Fringe award winner Vulva Va-Voom (they/them) restages their unhinged, heartfelt tribute, A Rocky, Whorish Patter Show, in all its manic glory. Vulva is joined onstage by Orlando favorite Michael Marinaccio.
Why do fans still gather– week after week– to enact a bizarre musical ritual? Why do fans of ANY movie/book/show devote time and energy to such dorky hobbies? Vulva breaks it all down…in their intelligently filthy “song-and-dance plus cabaret crowd-work” style!
With the ‘75 cult film as their focus, gritty nightclub headliner Vulva uses multimedia (and extremely dirty jokes) to explain fandom obsession.
Created for conventiongoers and non-nerds alike, “RWPS” features big belting vocals, tap, burlesque, lots of audience interaction, and the wittiest of parody lyrics. But watch out for an uptight theater admin, one Mr. Samuel Kensington-Somerville (played by Marinaccio). His expectations of a normal, family-friendly Broadway tribute will be sorely disappointed.
Recommended for ages 18 & Up. The performance runs approximately 60mins.
