Pig Floyd’s is getting ready to fire up the smoker at it's second area location.

Winter Park residents can soon get a taste of what has been voted, "Top 20 BBQ in the U.S. by Yelp Elites."

Three years after announcing that it was to open a second location, Pig Floyd’s Urban BBQ is edging ever so closer to opening at 1471 Lee Road, Winter Park.

The address had previously been home to another area BBQ restaurant, with Bubbalou’s Bodacious Bar-B-Que calling the location home for 35 years.

Pig Floyd’s Urban BBQ's owner Thomas Ward is hoping to have the Lee Road location open sometime late April, earlyMay, joining Pig Floyd's original location at 1326 N. Mills Ave. in Orlando.

Ward has admitted via social media that it has been a long road to get to this point, with permit delays, and constuction problems, including the use of third-party contractiors, all adding to the three years plus of waiting for the new locatio to open.

Pig Floyd's use a combination of traditional fire, smoke, and pit methods to create it's BBQ, often created with various cultural influences. In addition to traditional BBQ favorites, Char-Grilled Chicken, Oakwood Smoked Pork Brisket, and Sausage, the menu offers Brisket Tostada, Mexican Street Corn Fries, Bento Boxes, served with Jasmine Rice and Cuban Black Beans, Butter Chicken Tacos, and Fried Seasoned Tofu.
